We now offer custom-built cedar top-bar hives. Top bar hive beekeeping is a very gentle method of raising honeybees that requires comparatively less disturbance when performing inspections. This style of beekeeping, which uses horizontal top bars, allows bees to construct their comb in a catenary shape, as they would normally do in nature.
Our custom top bar hives feature an observation window which allows you to get an up-close view of the bees in action without having to remove any of the top bars. Price includes top bar hive complete with all top bars which come pre-coated with beeswax to encourage bees to begin building comb.
